Here's some of my work:

Old Mission Santa Inés Poster
PhotoshopThe organizers of an annual charity event at a local mission needed a poster to advertise the event. The poster places the recognizable image of the mission within a vibrant splash of color to quickly communicate both the location and the excitement of the event.

Float
InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop"Float: A Beginner's Guide to Floating with CSS" provides an introduction to the "float" property used within cascading style sheets (CSS). This short book was created for a project in one of my Professional Writing courses.
Styling websites is an art, but most books about CSS are languid, technical texts that make designing with CSS seem like a rigid, mechanical process. Thus, I wanted to create a book that conveys the enjoyment of designing websites while clearly communicating the complex innerworkings of CSS.

7 Easy Steps to the FAFSA
Photoshop, XHTML, CSSThe University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Financial Aid Office created a series of tutorials for students and parents about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). They asked me to create a website design to display the Flash-based tutorial videos. The series of tutorials become an invaluable resource for over 300 institutions.
The design features a colorful, accessible horizontal navigation bar that clearly delineates the current section and provides ample space for displaying the large videos.

Old Mission Santa Inés DotNetNuke Skin
Photoshop, XHTML, CSSThe organizers of an annual charity event at a local mission needed a new look for their DotNetNuke-powered website. I used a gentle palette of subtle blues and browns to evoke the peaceful austerity of a California mission and then sharply contrasted this palette with a vibrant red to visually communicate the fun and excitement of the upcoming event.
